LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070) -- Film producer Harvey Weisntein appeared in court on Monday in connection with a newly amended grand jury indictment. The indictment includes 11 counts involving five women, including charges of forcible rape.

It also restores a count of sexual battery by restraint involving a woman whose claim had previously been dismissed by a judge after Weinstein’s attorneys argued that the statute of limitations had already expired.

Weinstein, 69, was brought into court in a wheelchair. One of his lawyers, Alan Jackson, asked that proceedings be put off so that the defense would have time to review the amended filing.

Jackson asked for a postponement “to take a look at the indictment, to decide whether or not it passes muster.”

Jackson added that Weinstein continues to maintain his innocence. The arraignment is now set for Sept. 20.

Weinstein has already been sentenced to 23 years in prison in New York for raping an aspiring actress and a criminal sex act against a production assistant
