RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KNX) — A heat advisory will be in effect in Riverside County beginning Wednesday morning through Friday evening as temperatures are expected to reach as high as 102 degrees Fahrenheit, the U.S. National Weather Service has warned.
Highest temperatures are expected on Friday, which may cause heat-related healthconditions in some people, including heat stroke and heat exhaustion.
Residents have been advised by the NWS to drink plenty of fluids and stay in air-conditioned areas, out of the son. Pets and young children should not be left unattended in vehicles, and locals should check in on elderly relatives and neighbors.
Any strenuous activity should be undertaken in the morning or evening hours, if at all. Lightweight clothing should be worn when outdoors.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has recommended those working in NWS heat advisory areas take frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-condition environments.
