If you haven’t started getting ready for the holidays, you have a tall hill to climb, as a new study has found it takes about six weeks to get ready for the season.

A new poll from OnePoll found that decorating, baking, shopping, wrapping, and everything else we put into the holiday season takes the average American six weeks to complete, the New York Post reported.

The results from the poll examined how long Americans take to plan out every aspect of the holiday season, and respondents shared that they take, on average, five weeks to plan presents, meals, and decorations before taking another full week just to get decorations in place.

In fact, 22% of the 2,000 Americans polled shared that they spend more time planning and putting up decorations than they do actually enjoying them.

As for holiday parties, some are more on top of it than others, with 23% saying they received an invitation to a party in September or October. Another 9% said they put a holiday party date on their calendar this summer.

While 49% said “holiday season mode” doesn’t begin until after Thanksgiving, 9% say it starts Nov. 1, the day after Halloween.

As for the media we consume during the holidays, 36% reported watching and listening to the same movies and music as they did when they were young, while 16% reported it being different today.

When it comes to the nostalgia of the holidays, the pollsters found that spending time with loved ones was the best way to get in the mood for the season (39%), along with decorating the tree (38%), seeing holiday lights (30%), and holiday music (29%) among other nostalgic activities.
