Victor Villa, the owner of Villa’s Tacos, has come a long way from serving his unique and fresh handmade blue corn tacos out of his grandmother’s yard in 2018. In 2023, just months after he opened his first brick-and-mortar location in Highland Park, he received the Michelin Bib Gourmand award.

He also opened two more locations - one in Grand Central Market in downtown L.A. and a third at Avenue 61 and Figueroa St. last month.

“This is all God's plan. It's because of him that I'm here,” Villa told KNX News’ Margaret Carrero. “He gave me everything that I needed to keep on going, to continue even when times got hard, so I just put all my faith in him, and I cook with love. I cook with passion, and I only use the highest quality ingredients and we still try to make it affordable for everybody so that, you know, everybody could come and just enjoy our tacos.”

Tacos at Villa’s Tacos start at $4.

“Some people might say that's great,” Villa said. “Some people might say I could charge more, but we charge just enough so we make a little bit on each taco and we try to sell as many as possible.”

Villa also told Margaret Carrero fans can expect more locations coming soon.

“I'd say about maybe 3 months,” he said. “I'm always working, even when I'm working, I'm working on other stuff in my mind, like putting the pieces of the puzzle together.”
