A woman in Irvine says she's relieved her little dog is finally coming home from an extended stay with the vet after a coyote attack left him badly injured.
Rachael Rennie was walking her two dogs Saturday night when a coyote pounced, grabbed her Schnauzer-Poodle mix, Rocky, and ran off.

"It took people kind of a minute to come outside, but eventually, they did...and as soon as I told them, all of my neighbors started running around looking for him, looking for the coyote," Rennie told KNX News.
Eventually, the group found the coyote and forced it to drop Rocky by charging at it and yelling.
"I thought I had lost him," Rennie said, but luckily, one of her neighbors picked Rocky up and brought him home. "Thankfully, he was breathing, and he was alive, and we got him to the vet," she said.
Rocky pulled through, and after a tough few days, he was well enough to come home, but Rennie was left with a sizable medical bill. A gofundme was set up to help offload some of the financial burden.

Rennie says she now walks with a big stick and air horns, and her other dog wears a spiked collar for protection.
