Rebecca Grossman will not be getting a new trial.

In February, Grossman, a co-founder of the Grossman Burn Center, was convicted of second-degree murder in connection with the deadly hit-and-run of two brothers in Westlake Village in 2020.

Judge Joseph Brandolino said he took Rebecca Grossman's actions in this case in their totality and the evidence when deciding to reject the request for a new trial.

Grossman’s lawyers argued that the case was driven by emotion rather than evidence.

Outside the Van Nuys courtroom, Grossman’s attorney, James Spertus, told reporters there was not sufficient evidence during the trial that Grossman intended to kill the boys.

“She was involved in a terrible tragedy, a terrible accident and we hope the sentence reflects those circumstances,” he said.

KNX News’ Karen Adams reported that Grossman’s husband and children appeared in court, but that Nancy and Karim Iskander, the parents of the two boys killed in the crash, were not.

Grossman was convicted on Feb. 23 in the deaths of Mark and Jacob Iskander after a jury deliberated for nine hours.

Her sentencing is scheduled for June 10. She faces up to 34 years to life in prison.
