Jay Gandhi, who also mediated settlements after the Woolsey and Thomas fires, is one of at least two judges who have joined the lawsuit, representing more than 750 plaintiffs.
Gandhi told the L.A. Daily News he's joining the lawsuit's legal team because he wants the city to take accountability for the losses suffered by his family, neighbors and friends.
The lawsuit focuses on the reservoir that was empty when the Palisades Fire broke out. It also claims that the DWP left overhead power lines energized instead of doing a public safety shutoff.
The department says they only have one line above ground in the area and they didn't detect any faults.
