LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Our KNX Hero of the Week is a former homeless woman who is paying it forward to help other homeless people and their pets!
“My organization is Angel Hanz for the Homeless,” says founder, Karen Hamza.
For thirteen years now, Karen has provided just about everything a cat or dog owner living on the streets may need. "If they need animal food, blankets, medical care, or whatever for their animals, I dive in!" says Karen.

She and her team at Angel Hanz for the Homeless cover most of the Los Angeles metro, from Skid Row to the valleys. Pets often provide mental health stability, but they can also face neglect when on the streets. So, Karen and her team do what they can.
"I go anywhere, where help is needed," says Karen. "We are [also] stationed at the North Hollywood Park." She explains that she needed a regular place for the homeless to gather and meet for the animal care. Her teams also offer personal care packages and food for the pet owners as well.

She's going above and beyond to help others, using her own experience to touch the lives of many. Karen Hamza of Angel Hanz for the Homeless is our KNX Hero of the Week!
