During KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas at the Kia Forum on Saturday night, a popular KROQ DJ will have a booth where she will be handing out free Narcan.
Megan Holiday, a former addict, teamed up with fellow producer Jed Rhein, who is also in recovery, for a nonprofit called “Life of the Party,” where they give out free Narcan at concerts and festivals.
“We just kind of realized how big of an uptick there was of this going on in the country,” Holiday told KNX News’ Emily Valdez. “You know, being the number one killer of adults under 50.”
Rhein said it’s about being a hero in the situation.

“If you have a fire, you need to put the fire out, right? So God forbid you never have a fire, you don't ever have to use your extinguisher,” he said. “But have your extinguisher and the Narcan is the extinguisher in case [it is] accidental. You find a family member, a friend.”
