Los Angeles will only see a partial eclipse on Monday, but it’s not stopping some residents from heading to the Griffith Observatory hours early to see it.

Debbie from Sherman Oaks told KNX News’ Jon Baird she came hours early because she wasn’t going out to miss out on the solar eclipse.

“I'm not going to miss it! Must be the last eclipse I'll ever see,” she said.

One man said he will be working from home and plans to step out for the eclipse. That is, if he can get any solar eclipse glasses.

“I don’t have the right glasses for it,” he said. “I feel like I missed the boat at this point.”

One college student said he’ll be missing out on the eclipse entirely.

“I’ll be heading to a class in Northridge,” he said.

The eclipse will is expected to start at 10:06 a.m. While the Observatory is closed, it will have a live broadcast of the total solar eclipse in Texas. For more information on that, click here.
