LA County fire officials stop Flores Fire at 15 acres

Los Angeles County Fire Department said Monday evening that a brush fire in the area of Tuna Canyon Road and Las Flores Heights road has been stopped, has been stopped after nearly two hours of work.

At 3:01 PM, the department tweeted that the fire was a three-acre brush fire.

At 3:28 PM, the department said the fire was upgraded to a "2nd alarm response" and that 195 firefighters were battling the fire both in the air and on the ground. The department also said the LA County Fire Department Air Operations Section was assisting as well.

Then, at 3:42 PM, the department said the size of the brush fire was seven acres in size.

According to California Highway Patrol West Valley, Tuna Canyon Road from the Pacific Coast Highway to Saddle Peak is closed and drivers are asked to avoid the area.
