Police said the argument between two groups of men began over “philosophical differences between the Israeli/Palestinian conflict,” according to KTLA.
During the altercation, Itay Zaiger, 25, allegedly chased another man out of the bar and tackled him. A friend of the man who was tackled, 39-year-old Nicholas Tasooji, then allegedly drove his car onto the sidewalk and intentionally struck one of Zaiger’s friends. Another man said he was also hit by the car, but had minor injuries.
Tasooji drove away, but was later found and arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Zaiger was also arrested and charged with assault likely to cause great bodily injury.
