Authorities Tuesday sought the public's help to find a woman who collided with a pedestrian as she was riding a motorized scooter in the Westlake area, fatally injuring him.
The crash occurred at about 4:50 p.m. Sept. 12 on James M. Wood Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"A female and a male were riding separate motorized scooters westbound (on) James M. Wood Boulevard near Westmoreland Avenue on the sidewalk," an LAPD statement said. "The female collided into a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk, causing her to fall off the scooter and the pedestrian to fall onto the ground. The female picked up the scooter and fled the scene, following the male, eastbound (on) James M. Wood Boulevard without identifying herself or rendering aid to the pedestrian, as required by law."
The injured pedestrian died at a hospital after being taken there by family members, police said. Information on his identity was not immediately available.
A reward of up to $50,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps solve a fatal hit and run.
Police released security video of the crash, and urged anyone with information on the case to call West Traffic Division detectives at 213-473- 0234, or 877-527-3247. Tipsters may also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
