A Los Angeles Police Department officer was hospitalized after a crash on the Ventura (101) Freeway during a high-speed pursuit of a group of burglary suspects in Van Nuys.

Officers from the LAPD's Van Nuys Division responded to a burglary in progress call at a business located at 15355 Sherman Way west of Sepulveda Boulevard and when they arrived at the location, they saw the suspects and a pursuit began, LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes told City News Service.
The suspects led officers on freeway chase that ended near Tampa Avenue and the 101 Freeway where the officers crashed their patrol car. The suspects were able to evade police and remain at large, police said.
The injured LAPD officer was take to a hospital in an unknown condition, Cervantes said.
