Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department Friday asked for help locating a driver whose gray sedan struck a 22-year-old woman crossing an East Hollywood street, causing severe injuries.
The crash occurred around 3:40 a.m. on Oct. 16, 2024, at Western Avenue and Clinton Street, police said.
Surveillance video shows a long-haired man getting out of a black car left in the middle of Clinton on the west side of Western, and the woman apparently trying to avoid him before she tried to cross Western and was struck by the northbound gray sedan.

The man appeared to walk away immediately before the crash and left the scene without identifying himself as a potential witness, police said.
Paramedics worked on the woman and took her to a hospital for treatment, police said.
Motorists should always stop and remain at the scene if they are involved in a collision and pedestrians must only cross the street when it is safe to do so, police said.
Anyone with information about the crash was asked to call West Traffic Division Det. Morton at 213-473-0233 or Det. Holmes at 213-473-0238. Anonymous tips can be phoned into Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
The city offers a reward of up to $25,000 to civilians who provide information leading to the identification, apprehension and conviction of an offender or a resolution through civil compromise.
