LOS ANGELES (KNX) — The list of armed robberies in Los Angeles continues to grow, and this time there are two videos provided by the Los Angeles Police Department that could help detectives identify the suspects.
The first video was captured around 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 27, in the 4800 block of Whitsett Avenue in Valley Village.
The victims told police they had just been dropped off by a rideshare driver after a night in Hollywood when they were approached and surrounded by four men, according to LAPD. The men, all believed to be in their twenties, aimed handguns at the victims and demanded their jewelry before getting away.
Surveillance video shows two vehicles following the victim’s rideshare to where they were dropped off. It also captured the moment where two people from each vehicle jumped out of the car and ran toward the victims to commit the robbery.
The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of the armed suspects.
The second incident happened four days later in Hollywood, police said, around 6 p.m. in the 1600 block of Formosa Avenue.
The victims told police they noticed that they had been followed to an apartment and were approached by four men armed with handguns as they got to the front door.
Surveillance video shows the four men running up and drawing what appear to be handguns as they demand what LAPD called “expensive watches” from the victims.
The victims’ description of the suspects was similar to the one given by victims in the Valley Village robbery.
As with the first incident, the FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of the suspects.
Anyone with information on either case is asked to contact LAPD at (213) 486-6840 or email rhdtipline@lapd.online. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
