Lineage, the tenants of the cold storage warehouse that caught on fire on June 17, has created an air quality monitoring site to inform residents of what’s in the air.

“These materials are being provided to support transparency and help keep community members informed,” officials said in a statement on the site. “The data are preliminary, have not undergone the full quality assurance and quality control process, and should be reviewed with that context in mind.”

Officials also urged residents to continue following guidance from emergency and health officials.

Councilmember Ysabel Jurado spoke with KNX News’ Craig Fiegener about the importance of monitoring the fire’s air quality.

“Our constituents want to know what was in there, what burned, what's left over, and those are the answers we're pushing for,” said Jurado.

This comes after Mayor Karen Bass issued two executive orders to accelerate recovery and remediation.

Jurado said the distribution of supplies from her field office has moved over to the Lou Costello Jr Recreation Center, which is operating as a centralized emergency community resource center.
