Altadena residents will soon be welcomed back to Loma Alta Park, the first park in the area to reopen after the devastating Eaton Fire.

This isn't just a simple rebuild; it's a revitalization designed to meet the needs of the community. Loma Alta Park will restore what was lost, enhance existing facilities, and introduce vital new resources.

According to a recent press release from L.A. County Parks, locals can look forward to:

• Space for a satellite Altadena Senior Center, which was burned in the fire.

• Space for an after-school child-care center serving 100 youth ages 5 to 12 years old after 34 childhood education licensed facilities were destroyed in the fire.

• Creation of 25 teen jobs (for ages 14 to 25)

• Reopening of the SPOT Teen Center

• Space for a satellite Altadena Library branch

• A new Altadena Chats neighborhood meet-up and conversation site with Adirondack chairs to serve as a mini 'town square'

• Trauma recovery programming for children, seniors, and families

• Space for displaced community programming (Altadena Rotary summer concerts)

• And much more

L.A. County Parks, in close collaboration with community partners, is committed to making Loma Alta Park a symbol of Altadena's resilience and a vital resource for its residents.

To make this all happen, Loma Alta Park needs your help! Volunteer throughout April to plant trees, create murals, and get the park ready for its May reopening.
