LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Los Angeles police were investigating two stabbings that occurred just minutes apart in the Los Feliz area early Wednesday.
The first stabbing took place shortly before 12:30 a.m. in the area of Vermont Avenue and Sunset Boulevard. There, a man who was stabbed stumbled into the intersection, according to the LAPD. He was transported to a hospital in critical but stable condition.

The victim told officers the attack happened at or near a train platform at the Vermont/Sunset Metro Station, but could not provide a suspect description.
The second stabbing occurred about three minutes later, about a quarter mile away in the 1700 block of Vermont Avenue, according to the LAPD.
A woman said she was sitting on some stairs when an unknown assailant approached her from behind and placed a knife to her throat. The attacker then cut her, and the two scuffled. The victim was able to grab the knife, but not before the suspect stabbed her in the abdomen, the LAPD said. She too was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
Police described the second attacker as a Hispanic male. No age description or information on physical attributes were available.
It remained unclear as of Wednesday whether the two stabbings were related. Both incidents remain under investigation.
