Man charged with manslaughter, DUI in Seal Beach crash

A 39-year-old man was charged with manslaughter and DUI counts Wednesday for a fatal crash in Seal Beach.

Victor Alfonso Camposcarranza was charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury and driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content exceeding the legal limit of .08% causing injury, all felonies.

The defendant is accused of killing 38-year-old Jennifer Patricia Lopez De Catalan of Lakewood.

Camposcarranza is also facing sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily injury.

Camposcarranza was driving south on Seal Beach Boulevard south of North Gate Road at about 2 a.m. Monday when he crashed into a pole, according to Seal Beach police. The victim was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
