One man was shot and killed and another was wounded in Lancaster, and Wednesday sheriff's homicide detectives are continuing their investigation of the shooting.

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department's Lancaster Station responded to the 45400 block of Corkwood Avenue, near Avenue H-12, around 7:05 p.m. Tuesday regarding a shots fired report, said homicide Lt. Steven De Jong.

When they arrived at the scene, deputies found one man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso. Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel took him to a hospital, where he later died, according to the sheriff's department.

Deputies also found a second man with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to a hospital by an unknown person and was listed in stable condition.
