Man stabbed to death in possible carjacking

PARAMOUNT, Calif. (KNX) — A man was stabbed to death in a potentially failed carjacking just before midnight Monday in Paramount.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said the stabbing happened in the 6800 block of San Carlos Street. Responding deputies found a man lying in the street suffering from an apparent stab wound to his upper body, according to Deputy Trina Schrader.

The victim, described as a 27-year-old Hispanic male, was pronounced dead at the scene, Schrader said.

Witnesses told authorities they heard arguing before seeing someone being dragged by a vehicle, according to KTLA. A vehicle believed to belong to the victim was found at the scene, investigators told the station, adding the victim appeared to have been alone in his vehicle at the time of the incident.

There was no suspect information immediately available.
