Officers responded to the location around 9:04 a.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of a suspect entering the bank and demanding money moments before walking away from the area in an unknown direction.

According to police, no weapon was involved in the robbery, but the bank employees complied with Crampton's demands for safety reasons.

An extensive search was conducted by Seal Beach officers with the assistance of personnel from the Seal Beach Marine Safety Lifeguards Department, along with Orange County Sheriff's Department bloodhound, Hawthorne Police Department and Torrance Police Department investigators to locate Crampton approximately a half mile from the bank and take him into custody without incident.

Anyone with addition information regarding the robbery was urged to call Sgt. Jeff Gibson at 562-799-4100, extension 1172 or email him at jgibson@sealbeachca.gov.
