LONG BEACH, Calif. (KNX) — A Los Angeles man was behind bars Thursday on suspicion of killing his 10-month-old son, who was found dead inside a Long Beach motel.
Police were called around 7 a.m. Wednesday to respond to a domestic violence incident at the motel, located in the 5400 block of Atlantic Avenue.

Responding officers found a female victim, who stated she was assaulted by her boyfriend and said he and their child were asleep in a nearby motel room.
Officers found the man, identified as 23-year-old Jeremy Wade, and his son, who was unresponsive, in the room, police said.
Officers began life-saving measures on the baby until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and took the child to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.
Due to the suspicious circumstances of the baby’s death, homicide detectives responded to the scene to investigate and determined Wade caused serious bodily injury to his son, which resulted in the boy’s death, according to police.
Wade was arrested and booked for murder. He’s currently being held on $2 million bail, according to sheriff’s inmate records.
