INDIO, Calif. (CNS) — A man who operated a daycare center at his La Quinta home is scheduled to be sentenced April 15 on his guilty plea to molesting three young girls.

John Calvin Arledge, 61, is facing 33 years to life in state prison, according to John Hall, the public information officer of the Riverside County District Attorney's Office.

The charges stem from the now-shuttered ABC Day Care, which operated out of his home in the 45000 block of Carrie Lane between 2002 and 2006, when the children were between 3 and 6 years old, according to the criminal complaint.

Arledge appeared at the Larson Justice Center on Tuesday, where he pleaded guilty to two felony counts of aggravated sexual assault on a minor and one felony count of lewd acts on a child under 14.

Arledge is also charged with one count of committing a lewd act on a child under 14 with force. A disposition hearing on the charge will be held when Arledge is sentenced, Hall said.

Arledge also faces a sentence-enhancing allegation of multiple victims.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department began an investigation upon receiving a report of a sexual assault that allegedly occurred in 2006, the same year the daycare center stopped operating, sheriff's Sgt. Jessica Vanderhoof said.

The investigation turned up two additional victims, Vanderhoof said.

Prosecutors said the three children did not know each other but independently described similar incidents of molestation involving Arledge.

Deputies served a search warrant at the Carrie Lane address on April 20, 2017 and arrested Arledge.
