Law enforcement searching for man who ran away from L.A. reentry program

LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Officials California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation say a search is underway for a man they say walked away from a Los Angeles reentry program.

Around 11:30 p.m, on March 11, officials discovered Daniel M. Canelas, 21, walked away from the Male Community Reentry Program without authorization.

Canelas had been at the reentry program since Jan. 27 after serving a six-year sentence for second-degree robbery, officials said.

Officials described him as “5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 189 pounds.”

Anyone who sees him or has any knowledge of his whereabouts should contact law enforcement immediately.
