Man, woman die in apparent murder-suicide in OC restaurant

Police on Wednesday were investigating an apparent murder-suicide that took place in a Korean restaurant in La Habra, according to the Orange County Register.

Officers were dispatched about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday to investigate a shots fired call in the 1240 block of West Imperial Highway, the location of Gui Gui 9292 Korean BBQ.

A man and woman were found with serious injuries and both were pronounced dead at the scene, police told the newspaper.

"Based on preliminary information, the incident appears to be a murder suicide," according to a La Habra Police Department statement. "At this time, investigators have no indications of any outstanding suspects, and there is no known threat to the public."

It was unclear if anyone else was in the restaurant when the shooting occurred.

Anyone with information about the deaths was urged to call the La Habra Police Department at 562-383-4353 to speak with Detective N. Pineda.
