LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Businessman and Los Angeles mayoral candidate Rick Caruso received endorsements from a former First Lady of California and her movie star son-in-law ahead of Tuesday's election.
Maria Shriver announced her endorsement for Caruso Friday, writing, “If you want Los Angeles to be different than it is today, the choice is clear with @RickCarusoLA. Change is critical to the city’s future. It’s up to us - let’s go!”
Shriver’s not the only one in her family voicing her support for Caruso. Actor Chris Pratt, who is married to Shriver’s daughter, Katherine, endorsed Caruso as well.
“If you're an LA voter, I urge you to vote for @rickcarusola. He's a builder,” the “Guardians of the Galaxy" actor wrote on his Instagram stories, according to Fox News.
Pratt also wrote that while he normally doesn’t support political candidates, “there’s too much to lose” in this election.
Other celebrities and public figures who have endorsed Caruso are Kim Kardashian, Elon Musk, Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Meanwhile Caruso’s opponent, Rep. Karen Bass, received an endorsement from former president Barack Obama. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have also endorsed Bass. Celebrities like Alyssa Milano, Jane Fonda, John Legend, and Kerry Washington have thrown their support behind the Congresswoman.
