Monday at noon, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass will lay out her vision for the upcoming year with her State of the City address.
Bass told KNX News’ Craig Fiegener her speech will focus on fire recovery, the LA28 Olympics, and L.A.’s massive budget deficit, which city officials have said may require layoffs.
“We obviously have to start with the state's worst natural disaster in modern history and acknowledging some of the heroes, but we still have major challenges, like an $800 million deficit and how we are gonna resolve that,” she said.
But Bass said she wants to end the address “on a very uplifting note.”
“This is the time for the city to come together,” she said. “You fight together, you work together during those times, and then we're just a year and a few months away from the world coming here, so that'll be the general theme.”
