“Level one is the most critical so level 2 is very, very important and the Emergency Operations Center is the nerve center for any type of emergency in the city.” she said. “If you can imagine, like you see on TV, whether its Los Angeles or any other cities or states, that’s when every city agency- fire, police, the airports, the port, sanitation, transportation – just every city department that could be impacted to make sure that the lives of Angelinos are not disrupted any further.”
She cited the National Weather Service that 4 p.m. is when the heaviest rain will be but that “can change at any moment in time.”
She also shared that the rain is sustained, but moving very quickly.
“We asked Angelenos to stay inside today,” she said. “The timing of this could become earlier. We know that storms are moving fast so it could change. So please stay at home.”
She urged residents to call 9-1-1 for a life-threatening emergencies.
