LOS ANGELES (KNX) — A local street performer down on his luck was brought to tears this week when one of the most famous heavy metal bands in the world lined up a surprise for him.
Sheriff Dumman, who is known in L.A. for playing drums out of the back of his truck, had both his truck and drums stolen from in front of his Hawthorn apartment in December.
He put out a public plea for help and Metallica answered, NBC Los Angeles reported.
The legendary heavy metal band gifted Sheriff Drumman with a new set of drums Tuesday night in Hollywood.
"Man, thank you guys so much," Sheriff Drumman said. "Thank you for taking the time and the resources to support and help what I do. I love you for that."
Sheriff Drumman was reunited with his Ford truck a few days after it was stolen, according to NBC.
