A number of students at Beverly Vista Middle School were targets of the dark side of artificial intelligence.
A group of eighth graders created and shared AI-generated nude photos using the faces of other students at the Beverly Hills middle school.
It's unclear how many students were affected, but according to a note sent home to parents, the district is aware of the images and is investigating.
According to the letter, some students superimposed the faces of other students onto AI-generated nude bodies, and more victims are being identified.

One parent told KNX News, "These kids have brains that are very underdeveloped, and I don't know that the perpetrators of this bad act realized how bad what would have occurred had occurred. I think that they just were a bunch of very stupid adolescents acting badly. They should know better, but we need to teach them better."
She believes this technology should not be easily accessible to younger people, saying, "I really think that the onus is on these technology companies to make sure that our Children are safe."
Though her child was not one of the victims, the parent praises the district for reacting quickly and being transparent with parents like her.
Administrators say they found out about it on Wednesday and are taking every measure to support those affected and prevent further incidents.
District officials also wrote that they were outraged by this behavior and indicated there would be severe discipline.
