SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (KNX) — A woman was reported dead Tuesday after losing control of a motorcycle and going over the edge of a parking garage's third floor, according to authorities.
Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies were called to the Westfield Valencia Town Center in the 24000 block of Town Center Drive late MOnday night where they found the victim had fallen from the third floor of the garage.
Deputies said the woman was in her early to mid-20s and was learning how to operate a motorcycle. At some point, she lost control of the vehicle and tumbled over the parking garage's edge.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's identity has thus far been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities have not said whether the woman was riding with other motorcyclists at the time of the accident. The incident remains under investigation.
