
LANCASTER (CNS) - Sheriff's detectives Thursday are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in Lancaster involving a vehicle and motorcycle in which the motorcycle rider died.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriffs' Department's Lancaster Station responded at 3:40 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of 20th Street East and Lancaster Boulevard regarding the crash and upon their arrival learned a woman driving a Ford Explorer and a man riding a Kawasaki motorcycle entered the intersection simultaneously, said Detective Nestor Garcia.
The motorcyclist attempted to avoid the crash but was unable to and both parties collided, Garcia said.
The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to detectives, speed, alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash. Anyone with information regarding this collision was asked to call the traffic investigators at Lancaster Sheriff Station at 661-948- 8466.
