LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Los Angeles police on Friday were investigating what has been described as a “stabbing spree” at two locations in the San Fernando Valley one day prior.
The first incident occurred at around 9 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 7900 block of Broadleaf Avenue in Panorama City. The LAPD confirmed that a man had stabbed his father there and fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.

The suspect abandoned the car in North Hollywood, according to police. He was spotted shortly after allegedly attempting to break into another car parked outside a cigar lounge in the 12000 block of Oxnard Street.
Two employees and the lounge’s owner confronted the suspect, which led to an altercation in which all three were allegedly stabbed. One of the employees reportedly stabbed the suspect back.
Both employees of the cigar lounge were taken to an area hospital for treatment while the owner was treated and released on the scene. Conditions of the two hospitalized, as well as that of the suspect’s father, were not known as of Friday morning.
The suspect, who was ultimately detained by L.A. police, was also hospitalized for treatment of stab wounds. His condition was unclear and identity withheld, though authorities described him as a man in his 40s.
