LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Los Angeles police charged Charlotte Hornets player Miles Bridges with felony domestic violence and child abuse after allegedly assaulting his children’s mother in front of them, TMZ first reported Tuesday.
Bridges turned himself in last month, a day after the alleged incident. He posted a bond of $130,000 and was released.

Charging documents indicated Bridges faces a felony count for injuring a child’s parent and two felony counts of child abuse with the likelihood of causing great bodily harm or death, TMZ said.
“Children who witness family violence are especially vulnerable, and the impact on them is immeasurable,” Los Angeles City District Attorney George Gascon said in a statement. “Bridges will be held accountable for his actions and our Bureau of Victim Services will support the survivors through this difficult process.”
The children’s mother, Mychelle Johnson, posted photos to social media of what she alleged were her injuries from the altercation with Bridges. She described them as including a concussion, nasal bone fracture, and multiple bruises. She has since deleted the photos.
Bridges is scheduled to be arraigned and face a judge in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday.
The Charlotte Hornets reportedly failed to withdraw its offer to Bridges before the July 13 deadline, according to NBA insider Marc Stein, allowing the 24-year-old, 6’6” forward to retain a $7.9 million salary for the 2022-23 season if he signs onto it. His arrest came as he was expected to sign that large contract as a free agent.
In a statement the day after the alleged incident, the Hornets said it was “gathering more information” and had “no further comment at this time.”
