One killed, one injured in fatal crash on Foothill Freeway

GLENDALE (CNS) - One person was killed and another person was injured Saturday in a multi-vehicle crash on the Foothill (210) Freeway near Glendale.

California Highway Patrol officers responded at 1:21 a.m. Saturday to the westbound freeway and Lowell Avenue, where they found several other vehicles and a Nissan Pathfinder on its side, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.

Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene, where they pronounced the victim dead.

The victim's name, age or gender were not immediately known.

The CHP said pararmedics rushed at least one person to a hospital.

ABC7 reported that person was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

A SigAlert, issued at 1:42 a.m. closing  all lanes of the westbound freeway at Lowell Avenue for an unknown duration, was cancelled at 6:46 a.m., the CHP said.
