One killed, three injured in Sun Valley crash

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - One person was killed and three were injured Saturday, one critically, in a two-vehicle crash in the Sun Valley area of Los Angeles.

The crash was reported at 3:33 p.m. Saturday at 8000 N.
Laurel Canyon Boulevard, at Strathern Street, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people were trapped when firefighters arrived at the scene and firefighters were using hydraulic tools to free them. The two patients with minor injuries refused to be taken to hospitals by ambulance, she said.

Traffic in the area was impacted by the wreckage and rescue efforts.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
