Outdoor movies, live music, local markets, fitness and a glowing tribute to Dolly Parton are among the things happening around Southern California this weekend.





THE RARE MARKET: LET’S PARTY!
Glendora Village is getting a market, movie night and pet adoption all in one Friday evening.
The Rare Market’s “Let’s Party!” brings more than 35 local vendors to the North Lot with shopping, sweets, apparel and jewelry. Cats of San Bernardino will also be there with cats looking for homes.
The movie starts at 7:40 p.m., although viewing space is limited.

GOLDEN HOUR: MUSIC IN THE GARDEN
You can ease into the weekend with live music in the Sculpture Garden at the Norton Simon Museum.
Golden Hour is a casual afternoon with live music, drawing supplies and food and drinks available for purchase from the Garden Café.
The event is free with museum admission and open to all ages.

DOLLY PARTON TRIBUTE AT THE SANTA MONICA PIER
The Santa Monica Pier is glowing pink through Sunday night in honor of Dolly Parton.
Pacific Park’s 90-foot Pacific Wheel lights up beginning at sunset with pink lights, hearts and stars, along with the messages “DOLLY” and “WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU!”
The tribute runs through Sunday, Aug. 30, from sunset until midnight.

Memorial Park turns into an outdoor music venue Saturday for the Levitt VIBE Pasadena Music Series.

PASADENA POPS: MUSIC OF THE NIGHT
The Pasadena POPS wraps up its summer concert series Saturday with “Music of the Night: Andrew Lloyd Webber & Friends.”
