RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KNX) — Drivers can expect traffic snarls and delays in Riverside County’s Badlands region evening next week.
A truck-lanes construction project will shut down the westbound lanes of the 60 Freeway nightly, beginning Monday through Friday, march 18. The closure will be between Moreno Valley and Beaumont, and is set to take place from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day.

Westbound closures are to make way for truck lanes being built in a 4.5-mile section of the 60 between Gilman Springs and Jack rabbit Trail. The lanes are slated for opening this summer.
One of the eastbound lanes was also scheduled for closure for paving Monday and Tuesday nights, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., according to the Riverside County Transportation Commission.
County transportation officials have urged drivers traveling through the area on affected nights to take alternative routes, such as the 10 Freeway, to avoid delays and congestion.
