Pasadena is one of the cities in Southern California expected to be hit hard by the atmospheric river. Mayor Victor Gordo spoke with L.A.’s Morning News that he and other officials have concerns about the storm’s impact on the burn scar areas.
“We're asking those residents to listen for evacuation warnings, have a go bag prepared, and then if they receive an evacuation order to immediately evacuate,” he said.
Gordo also urged residents to take other precautions, such as looking out for debris flow barriers, clearing their gutters and drains, and keeping an eye out for their Christmas decorations.
“A lot of people use the same Christmas decorations year over year,” he said. “Well, be careful that those wires have frayed over time, and if they have, do not use the decorations.”
Gordo said the city is also offering free sandbags for residents at Fire Station 37 and 38.
