
A neighborhood was locked down Monday afternoon after a suspect shot and killed a woman in Pasadena.
The shooting was reported about 10 a.m. near Del Mar Boulevard and Raymond Avenue. Witnesses heard two separate bursts of gunfire inside apartment units in the area, KNX News’ Pete Demetriou reports.
Police responded to the shooting and found a woman dead on the ground.
The suspect fled on foot and was barricaded in a building near the scene.
It took officers from Glendale and Pasadena special weapons units multiple flashbangs and about four hours of negotiations to get the man to the door.
Eight hours after the deadly shooting, the suspect was taken into custody.

Four apartment complexes with over 100 total residents were instructed to stay inside while police searched the buildings unit by unit. There was no description provided of the suspect.
