Pasadena residents are being urged to share their opinions on designs for a barrier on the Colorado Street Bridge.
The barriers are being put up to prevent people from jumping off the bridge.
“The City is seeking a permanent and responsibly-designed enhancement to the bridge railing to serve as an effective deterrent while preserving the national historic character and significance of the bridge,” according to the Pasadena Department of Public Works website.
Kris Markarian, the deputy director of public works in Pasadena, told KNX News it's important for the public to have an opinion on the new design.
“The bridge is an iconic structure for the city and all of L.A. County, really, and it is a national historic structure,” she said. “So we will be returning to the public in the spring to share with them the developed concept based on the input we receive.”
There are four designs the public can weigh in on. The survey’s deadline was initially set for Wednesday; however, it has been extended a month.
