Pasadena says like the rest of LA County it's also not ready to vaccinate people 65 and older.
Pasadena city spokeswoman Lisa Derderian tells KNX 1070 News everything is in place to get the 22,000 senior residents vaccinated except the city doesn't have enough doses from the state right now.
"Our goal is to have 0 vaccine available and that we are getting it out there into the community and making sure we are protecting our residents and our businesses but unfortunately we don't know when that next shipment is coming," she says.
Derderian says the city has to use its available vaccine doses right now to give to health care workers and people in nursing homes before it can move toward everyone 65 and older.
She says several hundred health care workers still need their first shot along with about 40 percent of nursing home residents and staff in the city.
Pasadena has its own health department which is why it gets its own vaccines.
