A company that serves some of the schools impacted by the Eaton Fire is donating hundreds of backpacks and Chromebooks to help students keep studying.

The backpacks wlll be going out to students at five schools in the Pasadena School District, as well as the YMCA and Boys and Girls Clubs. They’re being donated by BradyPlus, which provides janitorial, sanitation, and food services to schools in the area.

“Between our staff and families that we serve here and through the schools, we know probably 200 families who have lost everything,” Sarah Potter with Harambee Ministries told KNX News’ Jon Baird. “Not only are the kids losing their stuff that they needed for school, but parents are losing the opportunity to even step in and get those things for their kids because they’re trying to find housing for their families first.”

Potter said the donated materials will help make sure kids affected by the fires don’t fall behind in their education.
