Pasadena says it will allow outdoor dining again effective immediately.

Lisa Derderian with the city tells KNX 1070 News there will still be strict COVID protocols for the restaurants like proper PPE for workers and enough distance between tables. She tells KNX 1070 News it may take a few days before outdoor dining can actually re-start.

"We are getting a lot of calls. Restaurants are anxious to get back up and running, bring their staff back. It may take a few days for that process to happen so, as soon as they know, they want to get the ball rolling on their end," she says.

Hair and nail salons might be allowed to re-open too in the city.

Pasadena has its own health department which allowed restaurants to continue outdoor dining in late November and early December when LA County public health shut down outdoor dining in areas under its control.

That was all before the state stay-at-home order.
