A multi-vehicle collision on the transition road from the Long Beach (710) Freeway and the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in Lynwood Thursday left one person dead, closing the connector road and parts of the 105 for hours.

The collision was reported at 1:43  a.m. and California Highway Patrol officers responded to the southbound 710 and the eastbound 105 where they found the pedestrian lying in the slow lane along with the damaged vehicles, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.

The CHP contacted Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel, who arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The pedestrian's name, age or gender were not immediately known.

The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of the transition road from the two freeways as well as all lanes of the 105 Freeway for an unknown duration while they investigated the collision.
