This isn’t just another home opener for the Pepperdine’s men’s basketball team.
The Monday night game has a particular weight. All of the proceeds will go to the memorial fund in honor of Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir, and Deslyn Williams. The students were killed in a car crash on Pacific Coast highway nearly three weeks ago.
“It's still something that you definitely continue to think about there,” Lorenzo Romar, the team’s head coach, said. “A few of our guys knew a couple of the women that passed, and it was really rough at that time, and it's just something you're not gonna forget and it's not gonna go away.”
Romar hopes there will be a good turnout and that the families feel the love from Pepperdine University.
