Dozens of cats and dogs rescued from the Eaton Fire are finally ready for adoption at the Pasadena Humane Society.
Hopeful pet parents were lined up when the doors opened at 10 a.m. Monday. Within an hour, 13 animals of the shelter’s 70 animals had been adopted.
“We expect over the next couple of days we'll have kind of more and more,” Pasadena Humane Society spokesperson Kevin McManus told KNX News’ Emily Valdez.
Chana, who survived the Eaton Fire herself, adopted a 14-year-old poodle named Coco who was surrendered by her previous owners.
“My house is safe, thank the Lord,” Chana said. “All my friends and family lost everything, but life is going to continue. We're going to rebuild. We're gonna regroup, and everything's gonna be great just like it was before, if not better.”
