Police increasing patrols at synagogues, houses of worship in L.A. area

The fighting between Israel and Iran has prompted local police to bump up patrols and keep watch over synagogues and other houses of worship in the Los Angeles area.

The Beverly Hills Police Department released a statement that it is closely monitoring world events and as a precaution have increased patrols.

Los Angeles Police Department Interim Chief Dominic Choi previously told KNX News there would be a “strategic presence” of law enforcement at critical sights during Rosh Hashanah and the High Holy days

“So everyone's informed how to contact us, how to get early notifications if we see anything, see something, say something,” he said. “There's been a lot of discussion, a lot of planning.”

Anyone who sees anything suspicious is urged to call 911.
